INTERNATIONAL-EUROPEAN-NATIONAL-LOCAL PROJECTS AND INITIATIVES ON TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS (with short description):
Among the principal topics supported by the Province of Brindisi, we can find Transport, Infrastructure and Security. This area encompasses 5 projects (ADRION, GIPSY, SECINS, SEALINK, MEDINTRADE) whose the strategic objective is to promote effective and efficient transport system and to facilitate the access to the information society. This goal will be reached through the setting up and the implementation of multimodal platform managed by ICT and through an integrated system devoted to cargo and passenger security.
| PROJECT ACRONYM | DESCRIPTION |
|---|---|
| ADRION | The project is characterised by three crucial actions: 1. NAUTILUS; 2. ITTB; 3. MARKET PLACE. The overall objective is to facilitate the access to an intermodal transport platform situated in the port of Brindisi and to spread, in real time, information about various transport methods and the virtual available access points to the platform. Furthermore, the match making among different transport sites along the Adriatic-Ionian Corridor will be promoted by the creation of an E-Market Place. |
| GIPSY | The strategic objective of the project is to design and implement a multimodal platform managed by ICT, in order to check passenger and cargo transport among the ports of Bari, Brindisi, Igoumenitsa and Patras. |
| MEDINTRADE | The project aims to create and develop a Mediterranean Integrated Transport for Development Enterprises, by availing of the most important European experiences in the cross-border transport sector. Med.In.Tra.D.E. will lead to:
|
| SEALINK | In the areas of eligible countries there are a lot of logistic services supplied by institutions and small operators but their use is hindered by the high fragmentation and the lack of institutional communication plans. The Sealink project, therefore, will lead to:
exchange and the elaboration of data collected by the Italian and Greek team; |
| SECINS | The project is finalised to improve passenger and cargo traffic among the port of Brindisi and the principal Greek ports. This goal will be reached through the development of an integrated system of security and surveillance, over the check-in and check-out, connected to the Brindisi Port Informative System, in order to guarantee a data cross check and to supply important information useful to organise the check-out in the arrival port. Passenger and cargo access will be unique and automatically recognised at the embarkation and disembarkation point. |
