
Work Package 1 Meeting in IGOUMENITSA on December 11th, 2007
Organized by Prefecture of Thesprotia, the meeting was open to public during the morning session. And, apart from the organizers, the representatives of the partners and the speakers about 50 people attended the meeting among which were members of the local media (news papers, radio).
According to everybody attended, the meeting met its set targets, as lots of information was disseminated concerning the INTERREG IIIB 2000 – 2006, the Archimed programme and the Med.In.Tra.D.E. project.
Two professional translators occupied the translation cubicle, successfully met the translating requirements of the meeting.
All anticipated actions and results presented were well prepared, presented, meaningful, detailed and relevant to the results anticipated of the first work package WP1, thus signifying the completion of the first work package.
In this respect, the completed analysis report of WP1 was presented at the secretarial desk of the meeting and was distributed among all attendants. Included in the final WP1 report were all data collected and analyzed by the Greek and Italian partners responsible for this action.
Professor Pietro Picuno from the University of Basilicata, as the representative of the Lead Partner, the Provincia di Matera and Dott. Vito Valentino who was unable to attend the meeting, started officially the works of the meeting, giving the stigma of the INTERREG IIIA programme and the targets of the project Med.In.Tra.D.E.
Mr Michel Gikas, today vise Prefect of the Prefecture of Thesprotia, representing the Prefect of Thesprotia Mr Vasilis Giogiakas, who was also unable to attend the meeting, saluted the attendants and wished every success to the proceedings of the meeting. Most importantly, he mentioned, that is imperative to include in the database to be created through WP2 & WP3 the details of the agricultural companies of the area, exporting their products to the EU countries as well as elsewhere, thus giving them an extra chance to promote their products in the European markets.
As mentioned above, all presentations were very informative, well presented and disseminated the anticipated information to the public attending the meeting.
