OVERVIEW

Med.In.TraD.E. – Mediterranean Integrated Transport for Development Enterprises – is a trans-national project, co-financed by the European Union under the Community Initiative Programme INTERREG IIIB ARCHIMED.

The project idea born from the awareness of the increasingly strategic role of South-East Mediterranean area, and in specific South Italy, Greece and Turkey, in virtue of the intensifying interest of enterprises and Public Administrations.

As a matter of fact, in spite of the growth of economic and cultural relations, the South-East Mediterranean area suffers from a scarce integration of the system of transports and logistics and, in case of Turkey, from a total lack of stable connections.

Med.In.Tra.D.E. intends to:

1. identify politics of integration and optimization of existing passenger and goods transport, logistics services as well as inter-modal junctions in the lower Adriatic and South-East Mediterranean, focusing on traffic among Southern Italy, Greece and Turkey;
2. Promote operative actions in order to create synergy among transport systems of South Italy, Greece and Turkey;
3. Develop tools and methodologies in order to ensure the continuous and safe movement of people and goods.

The final beneficiaries of Med.In.TraD.E. project are:

• operators in transport and logistic fields;
• Public Administrations;
• Entrepreneurial system.
