GREECE 2008/10: INFRASTRUCTURAL PREVENTION WORKS IN THE PORT OF PATRAS FOR MORE THAN 40 MILLION EURO

In the port of Patras there are planned works for the next two years to modernize existing structures, the development of deposed area / transport containers and modernization of existing marina. The news was given by the Organisation Delegate Administrative Port of Patras, Mr. S. Mammassi, who has stated that it also provides the reorganisation of the Services and the development of certified environmental management systems, hygiene and safety. The total investment is around 40 million euros.

EIA (European Intermodal Association) publishes statement on Green Logistics: “Intermodal - the key to sustainable logistics

In anticipation of the day when, sooner or later, companies may well be held responsible for the green audit of their whole product life cycle, it is unavoidable that current logistics processes will undergo substantial modification. Policymakers, industry and researchers will have to address new challenges as a result of climate change, while any European competitive solution may well lie in innovative ’sustainable’ intermodal transport solutions.
